A Girl of Many Hats

Felicity wears a lot of hats.

Some are actually functional.

And necessary.

But sometimes it's all about the style.

Sometimes she's not happy in her hat.

Ok. I guess this isn't really a hat, but it's still cute.

Sometimes her "wardrobe" may not be too cool, but her hat still is.

And sometimes she wears tutus on her head and calls it a hat.

Lots of hats actually match her dresses.

Then of course she has her bonnet from the Amish store. Yep, a genuine homemade Amish bonnet. It has a lot of benefits. It keeps the sun off her pure white skin. It keeps the uncontrollable wind out of her infection prone ears. And of course............she's just too cute in it. .

I have a really fun surprise for all of you who have left comments about how much you like her Amish bonnet................................................

I have four brand new ones to give away!

Three of them are the same size and the top right one is a newborn size. It is so cute I can't stand it! Your little girl will start the newest bonnet trend in your area. All you have to do is leave a comment. That's it and your name will go in the drawing. I will have Felicity draw the names on Wednesday night at 5pm. Now leave a comment and go tell all your friends to do the same.

Flashback Friday

Once again I'm not real sure what's going on in this picture. My guess would be the corn was really tall that year and we had to have a picture of it.

Cast of characters: First of all........well............there's  Patti on the left...........what is up with her? A hat that is way too big and a raincoat? And I guess she was shy that day.

Then there's our cousin Annette. Next is me, with pigtails and oh such a colorful shirt.

And last is my brother Tim. I suppose he was put into the picture to show just how tall the corn was.

Mom if you read this please enlighten us on this picture's purpose.....

Update: My mom posted a comment below for this photo's explanation...

Use Caution with Cell Ringtones

Jack and Papa just hanging out.

Smiling and laughing.

Enjoying each other's company.

What's that you have in your hand Papa? Just don't make that thing ring....

I said DON'T make it ring..

Hurry and put that thing away.

And pick me up.

And give me a hug.

All better now.

The First Bon Fire

We love to have bon fires around here in the summer. Even though the weather has only been in the 60s we thought we would generate our own heat. There's no such thing as a "small" bon fire in our firepit.

Kylee loves our dog Chip. They are best buddies.

Here's Patti throwing more wood on top of the pile. She just can't leave that fire alone. She is constantly messing around with it.

And of course the smores were AWESOME!

And here's baby Jack snuggled in all warm and toasty on Papa's lap.
Isn't summer wonderful?

Flashback Friday

This was taken one of our first Christmas's together. I'm guessing it was 1979. We met a month before I turned 15, we've been together for 31 years! Wow....we were young.

Brats, Hamburgers, and "Stuff" for Sale

The past couple weeks have been pretty busy around here. Summer seems like it does that to a person. But I'll take it!

On Friday we had a Brat fry for our church. Around here, there are brat frys every Friday. This year I've actually seen them on Thursdays and Saturdays too. I guess Wisconsonites love their brats!

We did have hamburgers also for people like me who actually don't like brats. (Shhh...don't tell anyone I don't eat them)

Here's our cook for the day. Bless her heart. She stood at that grill for 8 hours and cooked.

And one more shot of our booth. It started our pouring rain when we got there but turned out to be a beautiful day. Much better than the scorching heat we dealt with last year.

We also had a garage sale this weekend. It takes a few days to set up since we have about 8 families that go together every year. It's a lot of work but we have fun with it too.

I feel like my house is a bit lighter since I hauled a couple truckloads of boxes to Tracy's for the sale. It's amazing what I find that I don't want anymore. This year I went through about 10 totes that I had in the basement of Tracy and Andy's things. That was pretty interesting and fun to find all of those treasures.

And of course it rained almost the whole weekend so my grass is going to have to be baled when I finally get the chance to mow it!
